My Little Big Pillow Review #mylittlebigpillow

Disclaimer: I received the product described below at no charge or a reduced price to facilitate this review. All opinions are my own.

Before receiving and trying the My Little big Pillow
I never thought about a pillow for my toddler. She always snuggled up to her blanket and appeared comfortable.

Now that I have introduced the My Little Big Pillow to my two-year-old, I will never get it back! She loves it. She immediately took to the pillow. As a mom, I was a little nervous giving a pillow to a toddler, but so far so good. Besides, how can I go wrong with an organic memory foam pillow.

The case that comes with the pillow is soft! I actually thought that there was not a case since the zipper was so well hidden. The pillow really is the perfect size for a little head. It is really too small to fit in a standard pillow case, but in order to coordinate and keep the pillow clean, I tucked it inside a standard case.

Product Description from Snugg Organic:
Organic premium shredded latex pillow for toddlers and children age 2+. shredded latex is the most premium filling for pillows and that's why we have decided to use it as a filling for our children's pillows. 'My Little Big
Pillow' has been designed to provide the optimum sleep for children. Its perfect size means it is not too small like most other toddler pillows, yet still the right depth to provide the correct support for your little ones head, neck and spine. It comes with an organic soft cotton case, is hypoellergenic, dust mite resistant and durable. Each pillow has a lifelong gurantee.

Immortal Sleep

Disclosure: I got this product as part of an advertorial.

With my current work schedule I find it hard to sleep. I currently work a 12 hour night shift, which means that I sleep during daylight hours. For those of you that do not work nights, that means each time I lay down to sleep, my body tells me I should be awake like everyone else. It is a natural fight from my body, but I become exhausted and need sleep to function. When I was given a chance to try Immortal Sleep, I jumped up and down hoping to find a great solution and finally get some of my needed sleep.

About the product:

Immortal Sleep in a natural blend of herbs that:
  •  Promotes Healthy, Restful Sleep

  • Creates Deep Relaxation of the Mind and Body

  • Increases the Alpha Waves in the Brain Associated with Feeling Calm and Peaceful

  • Promotes Your Body’s Ability to Produce GABA, Which Acts as Your Brain’s Own Tranquilizer

To be safe, I used the product when I knew that I did not need to get up for work. I did not want to take any chances with a hangover effect or just plain drowsiness. I took three capsules about 30 minutes before I would normally go to sleep and then climbed into bed.

When I woke up, I felt good. I did not feel like I had not slept. I did not feel groggy or have any indication of a hangover effect. I felt rested. I also realized that I had not tossed and turned and woke up several times through my sleep.

I love the idea of using a natural blend of herbs instead of a compound concocted in a laboratory someplace. I also love the idea of waking up well rested and not groggy. The only downside is the cost of the product, but I put a high price tag on my sleep. If I don't sleep well, I can make an error at work that will cost much more than a bottle of Immortal Sleep. So for me it is well worth it.

I received one or more of the products mentioned above for free using Tomoson.com. Regardless, I only recommend products or services I use personally and believe will be good for my readers.

Dohmie by Marpac #serioussleep

Disclosure: I received the product described in this review in exchange for my honest review. All opinions are my own and may vary from your own.

As parents, we have all had those nights where our child just will not sleep. They fight going to sleep or they just keep waking up. If you have children, you know exactly what I am talking about. You also know the frustration that comes with these sleepless nights.

The Dohmie is a white noise machine that was created to help babies fall asleep and stay asleep.
When I received my Dohmie, it could not have come at a better time. My 6 month old daughter is teething and trying to adjust to the time change that just occurred. Her sleep patters are completely off and she has been fighting going to sleep at night.

Now instead of waiting to 11pm for her to fall asleep, I have been using the Dohmie. It is not perfect and does not "make" her fall asleep, but it definitely has cut the crying time down and keeps her asleep after she falls asleep.

The Dohmie itself is what I would consider a medium size unit and does not weigh a lot. The actual unit does not require batteries which is a plus in my home. That does mean that you will need an open electrical outlet inside your child's room that is far enough away from where they sleep, or reach, to avoid injuries.

The Dohmie is a white noise machine. That means that it makes a subtle noise to help eliminate silence in the room and provide comfort to your child. The actual noise that the Dohmie makes sounds a little like breathing. It is not loud, but it is noticeable from anywhere within the room that the unit is placed.

After using the unit for several nights, I did notice that my daughter is sleeping longer through the night. I did also notice that the nights that she is not fighting falling asleep as long. To explain, before using the Dohmie, she would go anywhere from an hour to 2 hours crying as she fought the bedtime routine. Now with the use of the Dohmie, she spends about 30 minutes crying before falling asleep.

The noise and volume of the machine is adjustable. With the turn of a button, you can control the level of noise. I am sure that adjusting the volume level to the perfect sound will vary from child to child. I live in a quiet town with very little outdoor noise, so I keep the volume fairly low. I can imagine that a family that lives in a large busy city or near a main street, may need to raise the volume a little more to drown out the exterior noises.

The Dohmie is designed to be portable, but I found that the size of the unit makes it a little inconvenient to take with me. The actual size of the unit is 2.4 pounds, 7.4 inches around, and about 4 inches tall. The size of the unit makes it difficult to toss in a diaper bag or just take with you on a trip.

Snuggle Stars Constellation Nightlight Review

With kids in the house, it is always hard to get them to climb in bed without being afraid of the dark. As I parent, I have bought nightlights, cuddly blankets, and showed my kids that there was nothing hiding under the bed or in the closets. Over the years, I have learned is that what kids really need is a soothing environment in their room at night to help eliminate their fears or anxiety. The Snuggle Stars Constellation Nightlight is a great way to help create a soothing atmosphere. They are cute and attractive to small children.

The Snuggle Stars Constellation Nightlight does require three AAA batteries to get it to light up but there is a timed mode to ensure that it shuts off after 20 minutes. Once I put the batteries in my The Snuggle Stars Constellation Nightlight the 5 year old came running. I had not even had a chance to figure out how to turn it on, let alone read instructions. He immediately pushed on the dome and lights were on.

We snuck off to a dark room and closed to door to test it out. While showing him that the lights were on the ceiling, he immediately discovered that he could change the color of the lights on the ceiling by pushing the dome again. It was quickly determined that green was the go to color.

The  Snuggle Stars Constellation Nightlight features 4 colors of stars that can easily be changed with a push on the back of the bear. The stars will light up the ceiling with dim stars in the color that you choose.at the batteries do not drain quickly. The feature that appealed to me, as a parent, was the timer. The lights will shut off after 20 minutes to ensure that the batteries do not drain quickly.

This is a great product for anyone with a child that does not like a dark room or has difficulty winding down at night. The Snuggle Stars Constellation Nightlight has managed to make bedtime a little more enjoyable for my child and a little less of a struggle for me.

The Happiest Baby Guide to Great Sleep

As a parent, I know that I struggled with exhaustion when my children were young. There were countless nights of fussing, wanting to play, and just flat out fighting going to sleep. I am sure that most parents out there will say the same they had a similar experience.

My newest challenge has a diagnosed sleep disorder, but before he was diagnosed, there was night after night of complete frustration. If was lucky, he might fall asleep for an hour or two and then wake up refreshed and ready to run. That meant that I was getting just a couple of hours of sleep each night, working, going to school, and then coming home to a wound up toddler.

There is a new book out called The Happiest Baby Guide to Great Sleep, by Dr. Harvey Karp, that will provide parents simple solutions to getting your children to sleep. If you even wanted an instruction manual for your children, this is a good start. The Happiest Baby Guide to Great Sleep will not stop temper tantrums or get your child to eat vegetables, but it will give you creative ways to get your child to sleep and help save a little of your sanity.

Some information that you can gain from reading the book:

  • How to train brand new babies to sleep better: Infants can be taught to sleep at least one extra hour from the first weeks of life! Dr. Karp shows how to safely boost baby sleep in just days.

  • What’s the best white noise (and which ones worsen sleep): The right white noise (low pitched and rumbling) is the key to good sleep—even through teething—for all babies. Plus, it even gives parents a more restful sleep

  • Why parents should always wake a sleeping baby: For good sleep, babies must learn how to self-soothe. The best way to teach babies how to fall back to sleep—when they rouse in the middle of the night—is to wake them just as they’re being put into bed.

  • How to enjoy the benefits - and avoid the risks - of swaddling: Swaddling dramatically improves a new baby’s sleep. Yet, many states are shockingly banning this ancient parenting tool. Smart moms should do it and Dr. Karp will teach them how to do it properly and safely.

  • The importance of powering down: Staring at bright screens at night (TVs, computers, phones) can wreak a toddler and a parent’s sleep.

  • Easy "no-cry" tips that end infant and toddler bedtime struggles in just days!
