I cannot tell you how many times I have been cooking in my over and had a hot pad slip out of my hand or an oven mitt slide right off my hand. There have also been countless times that I have used a hot pad and bumped the top of my hand on an oven rack. OUCH!

When I originally was given the opportunity to try out the silicone heat resistant gloves, I had no expectations. Once I used them, all of my oven mitts went in the trash and all of my hot pads turned into trivets for my table.

I instantly fell in love. They slide on just like a glove and protect your hands from hot objects. No sliding off my hands and no bumping exposed parts of the hands on oven racks with these little babies!

Oh did I forget to mention that these are dishwasher safe? OMG! Heaven! No need to worry about getting greasy goo in your laundry. Rinse them off in your sink and toss them on the top rack of the dish washer and you are good to go. Well, you may want to actually run your dishwasher too.


The only downfalls I could find:
They come in orange
They may not fit really large hands

There you go. If you don't have giant hands and do not care that these amazing gloves are orange, these belong in your kitchen!

Baby Proofing U Shape Edge Guards

In my home I have heavy furniture. The is a set of marble topped tables in my living room and a glass top table in my family room. For some reason they seem to be magnets for my children, I cannot tell you how many times my kids have bumped into my coffee table or end tables causing little goose eggs to form on the little foreheads. It has been a never ending battle.

I had a change to receiving a set of baby proofing edge guards for free in order to give my honest opinion of them. So here it goes:

First off, let me commend this company for knowing that not everything in my house is black and white. There is a full array of colors available to attempt to blend in, or even stand out from your everyday furniture.

The edge guards are a soft foam material and easy to slide on to the edge of most surfaces. This particular edge guard is a "U" shape so it does not fit easily on to a wider surface. This really requires a thinner table top. It worked perfectly on my glass top table that is about 1/2 inch thick. It did not work well on my marble top tables that are closer to 2 inches thick. It was stretched a little to much and just did not provide the security that I was looking for on the marble table.

The edge guards go on easily  but that means they also come off easily. Little fingers grab and pull then the edge guard will end up being not so effective. I found that the opening (where the two ends meet) should be away from the reach of my children at all times. Less access o the opening, meant the edge guards stayed on.

All in all, I think that this is great product to protect from unwanted bumps and bruises. i would like to see a way to keep it in place a little better though.

Stainless Steel BBQ Grill Brush Review

When it comes to cleaning my BBQ, I buy a new grill brush every spring. It never fails that I manage to gunk up my brush by the end of summer. Well, sometimes I am just flat out lucky that my grill brush lasts that long.
When I received the stainless steel grill brush from EliteChef, I figured it would be the next one on the garbage pile. But boy was I wrong.
I handed the grill brush to my hubby, and I sent him out to our grill. First off, let me just tell you that my grill had been sitting all winter covered in grease and a few other things I am sure that I do not want to think about.
The very first think out of my husbands mouth was, "This thing is nice! Look how clean the grill came." However, the first thing I did was look at the grill brush. I wanted to know what it looked like after scrubbing my 6 month old grime off of my BBQ.

Needless to say, the brush held up better than well. It looked untouched. Okay, so there were a few greasy fingerprints on the handle. By the way, those fingerprints wipes right off. But, the bristles were still intact and were not smushed flat!
I cannot say enough about how well this has held up to my caked on greasy BBQ and the absolute roughness that we have put it through over the last couple of weeks. This is a product that truly deserves a pat on the back!

As I get older, the change in my skin scares me. Yes, I said it. The wrinkles, the lines, the dark spots, they are all there.

I have tried many products that claim benefits, most of which I never experience.  So I thought that I would try something new. Why not a Vitamin C serum?

I used the Naturalico Vitamin C serum each morning and night before bed. I made sure to apply a thin layer to a clean dry face and allow the serum to thoroughly dry before going to bed or applying my normal make-up routine.

After two weeks of daily use, here is what I noticed.

1. More even skin tone. It was Not drastic, but I figured if I continued to use the product, the over evenness would get better.
2. Healthy glow. My skin no longer had its normal dull appearance. I now have a healthy all over glow to my face. As a younger woman, I would have disliked this look, but as I get older and the natural oils fade, this is a look that I aim for now.

Dead Sea Mud Mask Review #deadseamask

I received one or more of the products mentioned above for free using Tomoson.com. Regardless, I only recommend products or services I use personally and believe will be good for my readers.

Sometimes I feel like there is nothing better than the feeling of fresh clean skin.  Well, for a change I found a small addition to my fresh clean skin routine that I loved.



I needed to be thorough when reviewing the Instanatural Dead Sea Mud, so I recruited a few friends. Why not right? So not only did I gather my data, but I used the data of 3 generations to see if it worked the same on all of us.

First off, the ages of guinea pigs, err, I mean testers, ranged from 10 years old all the way to 72. We all sat around and slathered mud on our skin, let it sit until dry, and rinsed it off to discuss or thoughts.

To start, lets discuss the mud itself. The texture of the mud is unlike any mud I have ever used. It is lighter going on the skin and feels a little more like a smooth gelatin than a traditional mud. I thought it was unusual at first, but it was so easy to apply that I realized this texture is amazing. The was no pushing and pulling to get it on my skin.

Hurry up and wait.
Do you every feel that way? With the Dead Sea Mud I started to feel like it was not going to dry out. Not knowing everything about the product, it was possible that it wouldn't. But I remained patient and it finally dried out. I am not sure that it really took any longer than a traditional mask, I really think that holding a conversation for more than 5 minutes with my sister was starting to make me feel like I needed to crawl out of my own skin. Normally it takes longer than five minutes, but keep in mind we had been under the same roof for three days already. That should be a worlds record for the two of us.

Get it off me!
Okay, now it was time to wash my face. I forgot how much of an effort it can be to get mud off. Okay so it may not be hard for you, but I may have put mine on a little thick. It tool a washcloth and a small effort to clean the mud off of my face. Then Voila! I had clean skin!

The much awaited outcome.
Now that I had gone through the entire process with three other people we gathered our thoughts. The 10 year old was useless. I think she would have told me she liked the mud from my backyard smeared on her face. But all of the adults agreed that our faces felt better. No, they did not "look" better, but all of us agreed our skin felt softer. Usually after a mask I feel like my skin is tight or slightly sticky. I did not get that feeling from this. Just a lightly refreshed feeling and a feeling I needed to apply a mud mask more often. If she is lucky, I might even allow my sister to join me.

Pet Stain Remover and Odor Eliminator Review

Being a pet owner sometimes means cleaning up things we really do not want to. If my carpet could talk, I am sure you would run away plugging your ears. In fact, my husband's feet would have some great stories to make you cringe too. He is the one that usually "finds" the unwanted items left on the floor by our dogs.

Not only did I want to test this product in my home, but nearly two years ago, we had a BIG mess inside of our car. Our large dog fell ill and while in transport to the vet, lost the entire contents of her bladder. I thought that I had managed to clean it up, but the car still smelled. I even took the car to have it detailed, but unfortunately the detail shop advised me that he did not have pet odor removal products available for the car.

So my problem was not limited to the carpet in the car. The back seats were folded flat to allow the dog to rest comfortably while being transported and her lovely little gift ran between the sections of the seats. So I not only needed to get the smell out of carpet, but the actual seats needed to be cleaned also. The biggest problem, there is no visible stain to locate. The auto detailing took care of that for me. So on a stinky hunt I went.

The product could not be easier to use. I followed the instructions for an older stain and saturated the area I thought the stain was. I allowed the product to stay on a little longer than one hour, just for good measure. To completely saturate the area, I used about half the bottle. But, remember that I was "guessing" at where the odor was coming from.

After my extended "hour" passed, I used a dry towel to absorb and excess liquids from the car seat and carpet. Then I waited. I allowed the car to air dry with the windows cracked for 2 days. I had to do this in my garage since I live where the sky leaks ALL of the time.

After my two day wait, the car no noticeable foul odor. I could smell a hint of the scent of the Pro Vet Choice but it was not strong or overbearing. It is a light clean scent. As I ran my heater and warmed my car up during driving, I noticed a light foul odor again. I repeated the sames steps as before and have not had the scent return. It has been over 2 weeks and I have heated my car up and cooled it back down again.

Then I noticed the blisters started to fade. Really?? When the gloves completely cooled, there was no evidence of my stupidity anywhere. They went right back to looking brand new!

When I was given the opportunity to try Old Factory Candles and provide my opinion, I was elated. I love candles and now that I do not have small children running through my house, I can place them anywhere that I want...providing it is safe.

That means that I can set candles in my bathrooms, my kitchen, my family room...where ever I want.
When given the opportunity to pick a scent, I chose the Fall Harvest Collection that contains one of each of Pumpkin Spice, Cranberry,  and Autumn Leaves. I thought the fall scents might get me into a holiday spirit.

The candles arrived and I was very excited to pop open the box to smell each one. They all smelled like anyone would think. The one that caught me off guard was the Autumn leaves. It really smelled just like leaves! I thought that the name was going to be for a mix of fall scents. Nope, it smells just like the name implies.

The candles burned clean at all times. Since they are in their own small jars, it was easy to blow out the candle when I was done and place the lid on the jar to prevent any smoke from lingering. My only disappointment was in the size of the candles. These are really not any bigger than a votive candle. They are in cute little jars with lids and would be very easy to break up to give as individual gifts.

Not only did the silicone cupcake molds save me from having to run to the store, but they put a BIG smile on my kids faces.

The cupcake liners are easy to use and just as easy to clean! The bright colors are appealing to all ages and brighten up a table for guests.

My kids thought that the liners were fun to run around the house with, but they were both willing to give them up so I could start the next batch of cupcakes. I did find that if you are making cupcakes from a box, it would be better to buy two sets. 12 liners is not quite enough for a boxed cake mix. They are well worth the cost and would make a great gift for any baker you may know.
