Vinyl Disorder Decal Review

Driving down the road, I see cars all of the time with stickers on their cars. Little families on the back window, soccer balls, dogs, and many other items. I have always wanted to place them on my car but have been afraid to put anything on my windows or paint.

I recently received a set of family stickers from Vinyl Disorder that I was willing to place on my window. I received a family set of feet. Yes, I said feet. I debated on where to place the feet that I received. Did I want them on my slider door to keep people from running into the glass? (Yes this is a real problem in my house.) Did I want them on my car to show off my family as I drive my normal 80 miles every day? Mommy, daddy, and kids footprints now ride on the back window of my car.

The decals were easy to adjust and apply on my car window. I did not run into any issues with wrinkles in the decals or any issues with the decals tearing. I am not sure that I would place decals all over my car, but I really like having a family of feet climbing my back window.

Vinyl Decals has more family style decals to choose from than I have seen in my local stores. There are people, turtles, peace signs. palm trees, and many many more. I could go on for quite a while. Go check them out for yourself. You may find a set that you are willing to put on your car or a set that you have been looking for.

Thermal-Aid Reveiw and Giveaway

I live in a household full of people that get hurt regularly. Whether it is a pulled muscle in my husbands back or a boo boo on my four-year-olds knee, we always are looking for a way to relieve some pain or tension.

I had an opportunity to try Thermal-Aid natural heating and cooling packs recently. Thermal-Aid heating and cooling packs are made from all natural ingredients. The outer cover is made with all natural cotton and the interior contents are a specially engineered corn.

I immediately thought that I would need to test out the medium sectional heating pack on my shoulder. Unfortunately, the monkey was used first. My youngest was not feeling was not feeling well and was moping on the couch. I tried everything to try and get him to tell me what was wrong. But the only thing I got was this photo...

Look at that pitiful face!! The little light bulb in my head kicked on then. Grab the monkey!! I ran in the other room and pulled the Thermal-Aid monkey out of its box. I ran to the microwave and warmed him up for about 45 seconds. I tucked the monkey next to Kaiden since he was cranky and would not take it.

And here they are a couple of minutes later!

I am still not sure why Kaiden was not feeling well, but the Thermal-Aid was the perfect cure. It was warm to the touch and definitely not too hot to hand to a young child. I loved that it only took a few seconds in the microwave.

Now it is my turn! Finally, I get to use my Thermal-Aid. I took my medium sized sectional and tossed it in the freezer overnight. I knew that I would be using it on my shoulder that I dislocated a few years ago that is always flaring up.

I pulled out my Thermal-Aid and placed it over my shoulder for about 15 minutes. I was very impressed with the way that the corn inside held the coolness from the freezer. It remained cool the whole time that I used it and was not too cold on my skin like and ice pack can be.

I can think of many ways that I would use a Thermal-Aid.  They would be amazing during hot weather to help cool me off, or for that more than occasional sprained ankle that I get. I also think that this is a great way to soothe a child with a mild fever or even that occasional night they just can't get to sleep.

I was very happy with both of the Thermal-Aid products that I received. The using the cooled version provide me some relief of my chronic inflammation in my shoulder and the monkey provided a nice warm comfy friend to my four-year-old.  Knowing that all of the contents are natural and non-toxic is an added bonus with Thermal-Aid.

Lovable Labels

We have had numerous issues at Kaiden's school over the last couple of years with children going home with the wrong coats and back packs. Last winter, another child took Kaiden's coat home and did not return it until the end of Spring. Part of it was my fault for not having a name inside the coat. For the last few weeks I have been using Loveable Labels to label clothing items that go to the daycare with Kaiden. I do not like to write his name inside his clothes because I cannot pass them down to another child with his name written inside.

The labels are great to tuck inside shoes, backpacks, and jackets. I really like the versatility of them. I can add them to a coat and remove it later on when I want to pass the coat on to another child. I also like that I can customize the labels for any person in my family. With the unusual spelling of many of our names it is nice to be able to make something unique.

The labels adhere to most surfaces and have held up to the abuse of a 4 year old boy and my washing machine. I did test the labels to make sure that they would come off of the clothing also. I did not have any issues removing the labels from any item of clothing.

These are a must for any school age child! They will help keep your child's clothes with your child.

Aquatopia Bath Toy Organizer

If you are anything like me, you have toys that seem to linger in the bottom of the bathtub. I am always looking for something to store the kids toys in, but so far everything I have found is either not safe or it allows the toys to retain moisture and then the toys mold.

The Aquatopia Bath Toy Organizer is very cute. It is designed in the shape of an alligator head and was immediately very appealing to the four year old in my home. It is very quick and easy to set up. Once  you pull it out of the box, take it straight to your bath tub and tighten the unit on the edge of your bathtub. That is it!

The toys load easily from the top of the alligators head and just a easily exit through the alligators mouth. The area where the alligators teeth are, is padded to prevent smashing fingers. There is a built is soap dish, but we did not use that feature with the kids in our house. A bar of soap in my child's hands turns into a big mess in my home. The bath toy organizer is a quick and easy way to keep the toys organized in the bathtub. It actually turned into a game in my home. At the end of every bath, we have to feed the alligator all of the toys.
Some of the features include:

• stores and drains wet bath toys in its head
• easy open mouth releases toys back into water
• padded closure to protect curious little fingers
• includes a clamp with built-in soap dish
• installs easily on most tubs; no hardware necessary

The Aquatopia bath toy organizer is available at Babies R Us stores and online.

Daddy Scrubs Review

Well, I am not the daddy as the picture above says, but as some of you know, Grammy2Kaiden will be expanding soon, to Grammy2Kaiden and ??? I will be a grammy all over again in just a few more weeks. So when I was given an opportunity to review Daddy Scrubs, I was very excited.

I received the Daddy Scrubs in the classic edgy style. I thought that a new expectant father would love to be identified in the delivery room when his new baby arrives. The scrubs arrived in perfect condition. They were nicely packed in plastic to keep them from getting dirty during shipping. Inside the package was also a sticker that said "I'm The Daddy."
I immediately washed the set of scrubs to help soften them up a little bit. They washed well and I did not have any issues with bleeding of the dark blue color. They also maintained their size. No shrinking is always a plus when washing a new item of clothing.

Daddy to be
In order to do a true review, I needed a volunteer (This is what happens when you join my family, you have to model for me). The scrubs fit true to size and are  made up of a nice durable material. The Daddy Scrubs were also a nice cut so they did not restrict movement in any way. For any of my readers that have never put on a pair of scrubs, they are like walking around in your pajamas all day long.

I really enjoyed the look of the scrubs and the fact that they are designed to allow the new dad to stand out in the delivery room. This is a great way for the staff and other family members to easily identify the dad. Now if I could just get a pair for the new Grandpa too!

Piczzle - Puzzle Made With Your Pictures

With the holidays just around the corner I always struggle with new and creative gift ideas for some of my family members. This year I had the opportunity to try a Piczzle. A Piczzle is a puzzle that is made using a photo that you provide. I thought a personalized puzzle would make a great gift idea.

When I received my puzzle I was a little worried because is looked like the box had been squished in the mail.  To my relief, everything inside the box was in great shape. I received a small Piczzle (4.5 x 6.25 inches) with 6 pieces that make up the puzzle itself. I was surprised how nice the low resolution image i used showed up on the puzzle.

The 6 pieces that make up the puzzle have nice clean edges and make the puzzle easy to put together. This is a great way to create a unique gift for the person that has everything!

Christmas Centerpiece

I recently received a voicemail from a local florist telling me I had a boquet of flowers on my front porch. I was very excited when I got home and ran straight over to grab my flowers. I received a nice size Christmas centerpiece that had beautiful and very fresh flowers in it.

The flowers were sent through Fromyouflowers.com and came in perfect time for company coming in from out of town for the weekend.  The flowers were a mix of carnations, roses, lilies, holly sprigs, white mums, and some douglas fir branches, with a single red candle in the center.

This was the perfect Christmas centerpiece to have on my table while I had guests over. They were nice to look at and very festive. Currently Fromyourflowers.com is offering a free delivery coupon code if you have the coupon code.. A link to the free delivery coupon is HERE, it is a $14.99 value.

LivyBelt Review

Being a tall female has always followed me everywhere I went. I cant find pants long enough, I cant find dresses long enough, and all of my shirts are too short. Sure some companies make "tall" sizes but most of them think that tall means a size 8 or above. That is not anyone in my family.

As older kids grew up they always had to wear pants that were too big in order to get them long enough. Now things are getting a little easier for the smaller kids with the adjustable waistbands for little boys and the LivyBelt for little girls.

The LivyBelt by Olive and Nell is a creative way to add a little extra to the waist of your child to ensure the tummy does not show, there is not a gap in the waist of their pants, and their pants do not fall down. They are made with nice bright colored fabrics and are available in three different styles. The material is a nice medium weight fabric that stretches to fit most waists from 14 to 25 inches.

I really enjoyed the different styles of the LivyBelt. The Lizzy is a little wider and allows for a little more play. If you need to cover more of the waistband of the pants (or bottom of the child's shirt) this is the right style to use. This worked best in my household since we all seem to have long torsos. The Lila is very cute on since it adds a little extra flare to whatever the child is wearing.

I really like the fabric designs, durability, and elasticity. I also like that the LivyBelt works with clothing that does not have belt loops. They are ideal for leggings or yoga style pants. What I did find is that since my youngest daughter tends to wear a lot of colors, that a solid color would work best for her to accent what she wears.

Australian Natural Soap Review

I spend a lot of my time trying to find great scents but I need products that are a little gentler on my skin. I live in a cold climate and the weather here strips all of the natural moisture from my skin.

I was recently sent three bars of  french milled soap from Australian Soap. I received a French Pear, Lemon Myrtle, and Wild Honeysuckle. All of the bars are 3.5 ounces but they are available wrapped or unwrapped.

When I first opened the package, I was very surprised at the fresh clean scents. The French Pear smells slightly sweet and almost edible. The Wild Honeysuckle reminds me of a gardenia smell. It is a heavy floral smell that may be a little strong for some. The last bar I pulled out was the Lemon Myrtle. It definitely has a clean citrus scent! My husband could smell the soap from a few feet away and immediately asked what I had. I let his smell the soaps and he was in love. He immediately wanted to know where he could buy the soaps for gifts.

The bars of soap that are made are all natural and french milled with plant based oils. The soap is designed to be gentle on your skin, contain no animal products, and come from sustainable resources.  They are over 40 fragrances in the unwrapped variety and 28 available in the wrapped version.

With the soaps that I received, I cannot tell you which is my favorite scent. I love the French Pear. It is light and fruity and gives me a little bit of a spring feeling. The Lemon Myrtle is also fresh but citrus is the key smell. It makes me feel a little more awake and puts a little pep in my step. The Wild Honeysuckle is the stronger scent but yet it still smells good. It is the scent I would go for when heading out for an evening.

The soap lathers nicely and also washes off easily. It leaves my skin soft and smooth and does not dry it out. Before trying this soap, I had no idea how much of a residue commercial bar soaps left on my skin. This is

Uglee Pens Review

I have a small confession to make to those that may not know me personally. I have a pen obsession! I love to write with a smooth pen and prefer a pen with blue or colored ink, never black. I am also the first person to throw a pen away if it is difficult to write with. Fortunately, I don’t care what the pen looks like if it glides on the paper the way it should.

This is where the Uglee pen comes in. Okay, as the name implies, this is not an attractive pen. It in fact is truly ugly. But the way it writes and the grip in my hand make it worthwhile. The rubber grip is designed for an easy grip even for those with arthritis or those learning to write for the first time. The first time I pulled one of my Uglee pens out to use it, I played with the silicone grip for hours. These pens are ergonomically designed. They are light weight and the grip is designed to help keep the pen in your hand and off the floor. I initially thought that taking one of my ugly pens to work would be a great way to test is out and determine how well I liked it. Then it was taken off my desk to never be seen again. Who steals ugly pens? Sheesh!

I have been very happy writing with my Uglee pens for the last couple of weeks. These are definitely a pen I look forward to using for a long time.

The Polar Express Review

Thanksgiving has come and gone and Christmas is on its way. What better time to take a ride on the Polar Express?
Goofin' while waiting for the train

I packed up my husband and my four year old grandson and drove out to the small town of Hood River Oregon to climb aboard the Polar Express to the North Pole. The request was for adults and children to dress in your pajamas and climb on the train ready to enjoy the train ride and a reading of the polar Express. Unfortunately, it was just too rainy and cold outside to wear pajamas. Next time I am going to wear my Cookie monster pajamas!

See the decorations?

The three of us climbed into our car and were ready to go to the North Pole to greet Santa Clause. The train was nicely decorated in holiday garlands, lights, and ornaments. As the train started to roll away from the train station the numerous other children in our car got very excited.  The attendants in the train passed out hot chocolate and molasses cookies while we embarked on our trip. Then we hit a slight bump in the road, or tracks. There was a heard of caribou on the tracks and we had to change tracks to get to the North Pole. All of the children were excited to know that there were reindeer in the area.

The staff on the train were wonderful. They smiled and talked to the kids throughout the train. During the reading of the Polar Express the staff members held up copies of the books so the kids could see the pages as they were being read. After about a 30 minute train ride we arrived at the North Pole. Santa, Rudolph, and a few of his elves were outside the well-lit building waiving at all of the children. Then Santa and his elves were gone!  All of the kids were disappointed that they did not get to talk to Santa on the ride back. Then, all of the sudden, Santa appeared in our train car with one of his elves and the kids started to get excited all over again.

Santa strolled over to my grandson that had been on this roller coaster of happy and sad throughout the train ride and asked, “What would you like for Christmas?” How does my grandson respond? “I want presents….Duh!” This was the highlight of the trip for me.  I think Santa was a little surprised by the response and handed my grandson a little silver bell from his sleigh so he could call him at any time.

Overall, the train ride was a huge hit with the four year old. I think as an adult the highlight of this trip is seeing all of the smaller children believe in Santa and the excitement on their faces. However, if I did not have young children, I would opt for a train ride that was not full of children ogling over Santa or take the later train so it was dark during the train ride.

Climb On! Wrryfree Skin Care

Living in the Northwest has its disadvantages. We really do get rain ten months out of the year and we are never really hot here. That means that most of the time we are outside soaking wet or inside our home with our heaters or fireplaces running. That may not sound to bad sometimes, but it does a number on skin.

I have bouts of dry skin throughout our long winters that make me itch horribly. My husband works outdoors and with card board so in addition to the weather conditions, the cardboard sucks up any natural oils that he may have left in his skin. Both of us are always trying to find something that will relieve the dryness and not be irritating.

When I first got the Climb On! samples from WrryFree, I was worried I would not be able to thoroughly test them. Wow, was I wrong. The Climb on bar I received is just the sample size and it is about the size of a 50 cent piece. That little piece is still holding strong even with my husbands sandpaper skin using it on a daily basis. The Climb On! Intensive hand cream also is a small sample size but a little goes a long way. The cream potion is a medium thickness but there are small pieces of a the Climb On! bar  inside the cream.

Both the cream and the bar have the same unique scent. I cannot quite pin point. It is a earthy smell that has a hint of citrus to it. I actually like the smell but it is not a feminine scent at all. Both my husband and I have found that we like the bar better than the cream (the bar is more of an intensive treatment and leaves a little more of a greasy feeling) and we like to use it before bed to allow it to penetrate overnight.

Overall I really love this product. I will be ordering a full sized bar as soon as mine starts to wear down more. This is a must in my home with our itchy, dry, and cracked, skin. If you are looking for intensive treatment and don't need a feminine scent, this is a great product that really works.

Torani: Not Just For Coffee

During the cold days of winter a nice hot cup of coffee is a great way to start the day, but coffee is not the ideal drink to serve my children after spending the day outside in the cold and rain.

Torani can be a solution for all of your family members. There are numerous ways to enjoy a splash of flavor anytime of the year. Get creative with all of the ways you can add a new touch to your everyday favorites. Here are some of the ways we enjoy Torani in our house.

My kids favorite for the holidays: Peppermint Hot Chocolate
1 cup of prepared hot chocolate
1 splash of peppermint Torani syrup
Top with mini marshmallows

My favorite for the cold winter mornings: White Chocolate Mocha
4 ounces of prepared espresso (You can brew an extra dark espresso in a Keurig using the 4oz setting)
1 cup warmed milk
1 splash of Torani White Chocolate Syrup
Top with whipped cream
Drizzle with chocolate syrup
*Note: The milk can be left cold and the drink served over ice if a cold coffee is preferred

Here is the summertime favorites in my house for everyone: Raspberry Italian Soda

8 ounces sparkling water (if you have a SodaStream or something similar you can just carbonate plain water)
Add Raspberry Torani Syrup to desired sweetness
Serve over ice

Raspberry Lemonade
8 ounce glass of lemonade
add a splash of Torani Raspberry syrup
Serve over ice

We are still experimenting with new ideas everyday. What would you like to create with your favorite Torani Flavors?

Dinolingo

I had never heard of Dinolingo until I was sent an invite to watch the video with my children from Influenster. My kids and I just sat down and watched the little clip of Dinolingo above. It was easy to follow and understand. My 4 year old that has a learning disability picked up on some of the words right away. Others were not so easy for him. It does appear to be an easy and fun to understand way for children to pick up a new language with parental interaction.
