Our Future Fortified

   We all know that times are hard. The economy has gone downhill, jobs are scarce, and budgets are tight. Now, imagine if you never had a home, or that you have never had enough money to provide food to your children. What if you truly depended on the kindness of others to ensure that your children received food? Please don't think that this is only in other countries. This is happening right here too.



    I am a student nurse that advocates for not only health, but education, and nutrition. Part of a healthy life starts with proper body and brain development. Without proper nutrition, a child will not develop to their full potential. FutureFortified.org is working with companies to help battle the issue improper nutrition around the world. The 1,000 days campaign was designed by Hillary Clinton to provide essential nutrients to children from pregnancy to the age of two. This is the time that a child needs to most nutrients for development.

    One of the products it delivers to mothers around the world is Home Nutrition Packets. They are a unique and very small packet of essential nutrients that can be sprinkled onto any meal. These small packets are portable and easy to use. I love this idea! I like that a small bowl of rice or wheat that normally has very little nutrition can be turned into a nutrient rich meal for brain health and proper development. These small packets cost around $0.03 cents which makes them very affordable.
