Argan Oil Hair Mask #InstaNatural

How is your hair? Is your hair in need of additional hydration from all of the chemical and heat damage that you put it through? I was recently given an opportunity to try Argan Oil Hair Mask by InstaNatural.
The key ingredients in the hair mask are;  Argan Oil, Amino Acid Complex, Coconut Oil, Shea Butter, and Vitamin B5. Nothing that you cannot pronounce and all organic.

With chemically treated hair and daily heat styling my hair was limp and brittle. After just one use of the Argan Oil hair mask, my hair felt light and soft and was clearly shiny.

The real test was allowing my daughter to try the hair mask. Her hair sometimes appears to have been run through the dryer on the "Frizz" cycle. She also loves to color her hair but is incredibly indecisive when it comes to keeping a color. Change. Change. Change. After one use, her hair came out shiny and a lot less frizzy. Did it feel soft to me? Definately!

If you are in need of a quick repair more often than not, this is a product well worth trying.

I received one or more of the products mentioned above for free using Tomoson.com. Regardless, I only recommend products or services I use personally and believe will be good for my readers.

Nutra-Lift® Simply Superb Shampoo Review

Disclosure: I got this product as part of an advertorial.

I have had the most unruly hair over the last year or so. Since I started working at a job that requires me to pull my hair back on a daily basis, I have notices remarkable damage and hair fall too. My hair was dry and I was finding it everywhere!

I started to use the Nutra-Lift® Simply Superb Shampoo every time I washed my hair. After just a few washes I noticed that my hair was softer and more manageable. I was even able to get a comb through my hair after it was washed.

Now I am not saying after just a few washes I had perfect hair, but I will say that after finishing the entire bottle of Nutra-Lift® Simply Superb shampoo, I had much healthier and more manageable hair. The dullness was gone and so were the knots that formed everyday.

Product Description:
A premium gentle, daily, sulfate free shampoo infused with luxurious pure silk for shiny and vibrant hair. A shampoo that moisturizes and conditions with Goat's Milk. Including a Natural and Organic, delicious blend of aromatic, anti-oxidant rich herbs for a healthy scalp. Especially formulated for people with sensitive skin. Pure and natural for beautiful hair. Many people with eczema, psoriasis, acne, extra dry skin, oily skin, combination skin, or sensitive skin find using goat milk personal care products very beneficial. Great for normal hair. Excellent for dry damaged hair.

Directions for use (Do I really need to write this?):
Directions: Apply a small amount of Simply Superb Shampoo into your hand and gently lather into hair & scalp. Allow to set on hair for up to 30 seconds, so nutrients, moisture & silk can penetrate into hair. Rinse. Repeat if necessary. As with any new product, skin test 24 hours before use.

Hair Shadz Review

I am prone to sunburn and no matter how much sunscreen I use, I always end up finding a sunburned scalp after a day in the sun. Why would I ever think that my scalp would burn with all of the hair that I have?

Sun Shadez  has created a product that is designed to protect your scalp from harmful UV rays. It is made with a SPF 15 to help protect your scalp from those harmful rays that can cause melanoma. It is easy to use but takes a little time to work in to your scalp. Here is the best part. Sun Shadez are 100% Natural, Dermatologist Tested and can be refilled.

It took me a little time to get to test out Sun Shadez. First, I live in a gray gloomy climate. Second, I have been inside a hospital for 12 hours a day for the entire month of February. Now that I have broke free and the sun has emerged, I have had a chance to thoroughly test Sun Shadez.

The product is a light weight powder that comes in a small container with a brush applicator. It applies easily to your hair and scalp, but it does need to be rubbed in a little bit to keep it from being visible in your hair. The container that Sun Shadez comes in is handy to tuck in your purse or leave on your counter in your bathroom for easy use. The lid initially seemed difficult to put back on without damaging the brush, but I quickly discovered that the container expanded tucking the brush away safely for easy lid replacement.

Overall, I was happy with the ease of application. It also did provide me a little comfort knowing I would not have a sore head from a sun burn when I ran my hair brush through my hair. Besides, it never hurts to take an extra step in preventing skin cancer, especially when it is easy to do.

GOODY® Quickstyle Brush Review

Okay I know the brush above looks funny but it really is amazing.  The Goody Quickstyle brush is designed to help dry your hair quickly by adding microfiber pieces in between the bristles.

I decided that I should give this a try since it takes me forever to dry my unruly hair. I was surprised that it really does take a little less time to dry my hair. Not drastically different, but enough for me to notice.

The bristles are gentle and wide enough apart that they do not rip my hair out while I am trying to get the knots out of my hair. This brush is also gentle enough on my hair that I tested it on my daughter also. She has an incredibly sensitive head and was not bothered by this brush.

I did find it a little more difficult to clean the brush of loose hair and I found the brush was a little bulkier than I was used to. But, overall I have been very happy using the Quickstyle brush and will continue to use it.

Enjoy Hair Care Review

When I go to the salon to have my hair cut and colored (shh, don't tell anyone) I see a rack of Enjoy hair care in the front of the salon. I am always a little leery of trying new hair products since I am a little picky so I never ask and I never purchase.

I have naturally curly hair that has a tendency to get frizzy throughout the day. I usually straighten my hair to avoid the frizz. Over the last couple of weeks I have been using Enjoy Sulfate-Free Luxury Shampoo and Conditioner.

The Shampoo and Conditioner:

I have to say that the shampoo lathers well and it only takes a small amount of shampoo to clean my hair. The Luxury shampoo and conditioner leave my hair feeling clean and soft. The bottles have an unusual design when you open the lid. The hole that you squeeze the shampoo and conditioner out of is about two times the size of my normal shampoo and conditioner bottles. This is not a bad thing at all, but the first time I used them, it was easier to get the contents out of the bottles and I dispensed a little too much. It took me a few tries and a continuous reminder not to squeeze too hard.

The shampoo and conditioner are both white and slightly thick. They have a light scent that reminds me a little bit of a tropical sent or light coconut. I like the scent since it is light and not over powering.

The Straightener:

Since I straighten my hair, I will take all of the help that I can get.  If I blow dry my hair, I can easily spend an hour getting it to dry. To picture my hair, think of a poodle with an overgrown hairdo. I was more that eager to try the straightener to see if it helped. I used the straightener as directed and was very happy with the results. It did help ease the straightening process and left my hair smooth and frizz free. What I did find it that I did not need to use a lot of this product. I found that if I used too much, it weighed by hair down a little bit. If I used it fairly sparingly it left my hair soft and manageable.

The straightener is the consistency of a thin hair gel. It is a light purple color and smells edible. The scent is a fruity apple scent and I live it. The smell lasts through the day and I get hints of apple smell when I move.

Enjoy products are definately a product that I will purchase when in my salon next time. With the way my hair looks and feels after just a couple of weeks using the shampoo and conditioner, they are a must to maintain healthy hair.

If you would like to find a salon near you that carries the Enjoy line, go to the salon locator here.

If you would like to win the same set of Enjoy Hair Care that I received: 1 Luxury Shampoo, 1 Luxury Conditioner, and 1 Straightener, click here to enter my giveaway here.

Color Me Crazy - Splat Washables Review

A few days ago I received two boxes of Splat Washables. I received a Hot 4 Pink and an Electric Blue. I immediately got to work using myself and a friend of the family as guinea pigs.

When I opened the first box, I was a little surprised to see that this was came with a tube of color and a separate mascara style brush to apply the color. I was not sure I was going to like the applicator separate and not part of the actual container. It actually worked out well. It allows you to apply the color to the brush part only. If the wand had been part of the container, I think the process of applying the color would have been messier.

I was the first person to use the splat. I am purposely leaving out photos of this due to the fact that when a forty year old has an opportunity to go crazy with color, it looks a little crazy. The second person to use the color was a teenage friend of my family. She very graciously offered her head as a testing ground. The product was easy to apply and any mistake made was even easier to correct with just water. What I did notice is that the color varies based on your hair color. The darker your hair, the darker the color appears, but it is clearly still visible. I can see this being a must have in my home for Halloween and other times we just want to add a little color expression to our hair.

I was very happy with the ease of use and the colors. They were bright and fun. What I did find is that you cannot leave a teenage girl alone with the Splat Washables. Here is what happens when you do (this is NOT a recommended use and the dog was not harmed in any way).

But I did get a great quote that fit perfectly "Blue Mohawk  (: it's pretty cool, don't even need shampoo to wash it out. Just water!"

Splat also makes other varieties of hair color products. You can check out the entire product line on their website. While you are there you can grab a $1.00 off coupon on their website that is good through August 31st.
