Old Factory Candle Gift Set Review #oldfactory

Disclaimer: The product described below was provided free of charge to facilitate the review. All opinions are my own.

When I was given the opportunity to try Old Factory Candles and provide my opinion, I was elated. I love candles and now that I do not have small children running through my house, I can place them anywhere that I want...providing it is safe.

That means that I can set candles in my bathrooms, my kitchen, my family room...where ever I want.
When given the opportunity to pick a scent, I chose the Fall Harvest Collection that contains one of each of Pumpkin Spice, Cranberry,  and Autumn Leaves. I thought the fall scents might get me into a holiday spirit.

The candles arrived and I was very excited to pop open the box to smell each one. They all smelled like anyone would think. The one that caught me off guard was the Autumn leaves. It really smelled just like leaves! I thought that the name was going to be for a mix of fall scents. Nope, it smells just like the name implies.

The candles burned clean at all times. Since they are in their own small jars, it was easy to blow out the candle when I was done and place the lid on the jar to prevent any smoke from lingering. My only disappointment was in the size of the candles. These are really not any bigger than a votive candle. They are in cute little jars with lids and would be very easy to break up to give as individual gifts.

Hallmark Creations For The Holidays And Beyond

Disclosure: I received the product described below free of charge to facilitate this review. All opinions are my own and may vary from your own.

If you are anything like me, you are doing your best to be budget conscious during the holiday shopping season. At the same time I want everything that I do purchase and give to my loved ones to be special and unique.

I found a great way to do it! For the Holidays, Hallmark is carrying a Pic's 'N' Props Christmas Fun Kit to help you capture your own holiday memories. The kit includes 18 fun props that will help you make fun, creative, and personalized family photos for you to keep or share with your family. It even includes a small 4 x 6 photo album for you to store some of the fun photos that you take.

All of the pieces are made of a thick paperboard material and have bright and true to life colors. Don't think that you will only use this kit once either. With 18 separate props and the sturdy construction, you will be able to place the props right back in the box and use them for next year too.

A few of mine are not going to get re used, they have been eaten by the Jaz monster!

Candle Warners Review

Fire Prevention week is coming up between October 8-12. As the days get darker and cooler, candles are used more and more. Candles are one of the largest fire hazards that we use in our homes.

Lit up in the dark

I have switched to candle warmers instead of traditional candles. They are great in protecting small children from severe burns and also preventing accidental fires. They also do not burn. A small light bulb inside warms the wax until it melts. You can still have a candle scent and a glow in the corner of a room, but you do not get the soot and uneven melting that you get with a traditional candle.
I recently tried a Candlewarmers.com Holiday collection candle warmer. The pumpkin design is perfect for the fall season. This will be my way to keep candles out of our pumpkin on Halloween. I can set this adorable pumpkin up in my kitchen window for all of my guests to see as they approach my door.

The un-melted wax in the top of the warmer

I have spent the last several days melting Apple Cinnamon wax inside the top of the pumpkin. My house is starting to smell like apple cider. The scent is a lightly spicy cinnamon scent mixed with a subtle apple scent. It is warm and soothing to smell and makes me feel like curling up to a fire and a good book.

Candlewarmers.com prides themselves on going Flameless and practicing Candle-Sense. What are you going to do to keep your family safe during fire safety week?
