Soft Scrub Review

Years ago Soft Scrub was just a liquid cleanser that you had to squeeze out of a bottle and scrub in. Wow has it changed. Soft Scrub has a new product line called Soft Scrub Total. The bottle is a newly designed shape that can be used upside down!

Soft Scrub Total is designed as an all purpose cleaner. It can be used to clean all of the surfaces in your kitchen. I used the Soft Scrub Total to clean inside my microwave and to surface clean my counter tops. I was very happy with the way it pulled out the stains on my counters and was able to easily cut through the splattered bacon grease inside my microwave. The extra bonus with Soft Scrub Total was that I could hold the bottle upside down and spray a thicker foam solution onto the top of the inside of my microwave. The thicker foam allowed it to have time to work before dripping down.

I saved the Soft Scrub Total with Bleach to kill germs on my counters after preparing raw meats, cleaning the kitchen sink, and of course for my bathrooms. The option for the fine spray or thicker foam spray really is a lifesaver for this product. The last thing I wanted to do was get bleach on something that I should not spray bleach on.  The foam spray and upside down functionality was great for spraying the inside of my toilets and mildew stains in my showers. The fine mist spray was great for the counters and sinks to ensure proper coverage.

Overall, Soft Scrub Total exceeded my expectations. There is a clear advantage of having the ability to spray the bottle upside down and change from a spray to a foam at any time. My counters, sinks, toilets, and showers were left clean providing me a peace of mind that my family will not be exposed to germs within my home.

Dry Idea® antiperspirant review

I recently received a Dry Idea Antiperspirant from Purex Insiders. This is a product that I remember from my youth. It is not a product that I would have gone straight to in a store. Now is my chance to try a product I had long forgotten about.

The product that I received was the roll-on powder fresh scent. I felt that I needed to use this product for several days before giving a review. I started using the Dry Idea the morning after I received it. Getting used to a roll-on after years of a solid or a semi-solid antiperspirant took a little bit. Knowing that this is available is a clear gel or invisible solid means that I can use Dry Idea and not have to use a roll-on in the future if preferred. After a little over a week of use I can say that Dry Idea does work well. The powder fresh scent is light and not overwhelming. It kept me dry during the hot and humid summer days and allowed me to feel confident wearing anything that I wanted. I was very surprised that a product from my childhood worked so well.

  Product information: (from www.dryidea.com)

  • Regular, Unscented and Powder Fresh Roll-On, Invisible Solid, and Clear Gel (2.5 through 3.25oz.)
  • Silicone-based formulation - our secret to dry
  • Hypo-allergenic
This formulation puts the “Dry” in Dry Idea® antiperspirants. It contains no water – for a drier application. And it’s time-released for longer-lasting odor protection and fragrance.

More information on Dry Idea Advanced Dry®  can be found on http://www.facebook.com/dryidea

DISCLOSURE:  I was provided a sample of the product from Purex Insiders and Dry Idea to evaluate.  No compensation was given for this review. All opinions are my own.

Honey Bunches of Oats Review

For years I have avoided cereals that appear to target the "older" crowd. I just did not want anything to do with the words health, nutritious, or fiber. Then I became that "older" person. I am not sure when it happened, but it did.
About a week ago, I received a box of Honey Bunches of Oats cereal in the mail. What was I going to do with an entire box of this cereal. I have a young child and two other adults that are picky eaters. I thought this box may sit and decompose on the top of my refrigerator. It was time to step up and do what moms do best, torture their kids (and husbands).
I started with my 22 year old daughter. She is the most vocal and happens to be the pickiest of the bunch too. I poured her a bowl at breakfast time and told her to just try it. If she did not like it, it was okay. I just needed an honest opinion. Then the four year old crawled out of bed and into the kitchen. He wanted a bowl of cereal too. (I got my second guinea pig!) I poured him a bowl and sat him at the table too.

Fast forward about 15 minutes...... I did not hear a single complaint out of either of them, just that they wanted more. After both of them finished their second servings, I had to pick my jaw up off of the floor. A four year old eats Honey Bunches of Oats? When did that happen?
The entire box of cereal was gone in a few days. My entire household enjoyed the sweet taste combined with the crunch of the "bunches." That must mean they are really not that good for you right. Actually, wrong! They have the same calories per serving as the Original Special K cereal! Check out the comparison here.  Finally a nutritious cereal that the whole family will eat. There are currently 10 different flavor varieties of Honey Bunches of Oats.
  • Honey Roasted
  • Almonds
  • Strawberries
  • Raisin Medley
  • Vanilla Bunches
  • Pecan Bunches
  • Cinnamon Bunches
  • Blueberry Banana
  • Peach Raspberry
  • Just Bunches Honey Roasted
There is a flavor that will appeal to everyone in my household. I am happy that I finally found a cereal that I can feel good about serving to my family that even I enjoy.
