Make Natural Choices For Your Family For Back To School
Make Natural Choices For Your Family For Back To School
Every purchase, of select products, during August through October, from Nordic Naturals will help Healthy Child Healthy World raise awareness about hidden chemicals.
As parents we all try to do what is best for our children. From time to time we give in and buy them something we know that they probably should not have, but they are too cute to say "no" to. My house is not an exception to that rule.
I have a 22 year old daughter that was diagnosed at the age of 19 with inoperable brain cancer. I also have a 4 year old that has epilepsy and cognitive delays. Both of my children were diagnosed with their health issues less than 3 months apart. I immediately went into "why" mode. Why me? Why a child? Why so young? The "why" mode transformed into the "what" mode. What is the cause of these issues? I started to research both brain cancer and epilepsy. I needed to know if there was a direct link to something I was doing or if it was totally out of my control ( I am a teeny bit of a control freak).
After running into dead end after dead end, I asked everyone that I could think of if there was something that I could do to ease the symptoms or slow the progress. I immediately through out all plastic items from my house. I did not know what had BPA or PVC or anything else for that matter. I replaced all of my plastic containers with glass or BPA free plastics.
Then I removed everything from my house with artificial colors (red and yellow are a no no for epilepsy and ADHD). Then is was off to the cabinets. All cleaners had to go. I currently only use steam to kill germs in my house to avoid chemicals.
I removed all medications that could be replaced by a natural substance. all cold medicines and acetaminophen. I now only buy natural cold remedies and fever reducers. I clearly could not stop provided anti-seizure medications since that could cause life threatening problems, but I managed to remove an entire cabinet full of other items.
Clearly this has been done over time. It is too expensive to throw everything out and replace it all at once. It is my job as a mom to protect my children from harm. Unfortunately, harm is no longer just a stranger or falling out of a tree. It is in our food, water, medicines, cleaners, and many more day to day items. My family deserves to live in an environment that is safe from harm so I will do my best to protect them in any way that I can.

Mr. Chewy Pet Treats Review

I never knew there were so many varieties of dog and cat treats available until I visited Mr.Chewy.com. I just placed my first order with Mr. Chewy. I ordered packages of dog treats and 3 packages of cat treats. I knew that my animals were going to be very happy with me when the box arrived.
Mr. Chewy was very easy to place an order with. They provide free shipping on orders over $49, which makes it cheaper too. Once I found the products that I wanted, the order process was very simple. I received an immediate email confirmation of my order then I started to receive the processing and shipping notifications.
The box arrived at my house and I had an immediate fan club. One chocolate lab and one hairy mutt at my feet with their tails wagging. Can they smell dog treats in sealed packages through cardboard? The clear answer is yes for my dogs.
I ordered two bags of Blue Buffalo and Greenies treats for my animals. There was definitely competitive pricing on the Mr. Chewy site. They are also offering 15% off of your first order. Combine the 15% off with free shipping on $49 or more and you are going to get a great deal. I know that I spend more that $49 at my local pet store when purchasing dog and cat food alone. With the quick reorder or scheduled deliveries, I can sit back and relax and not worry about running out of dog or cat food.
If you need pet treats, or other pet health products and have limited time, Mr. Chewy is a great resource. They will allow you to order what you need and have it delivered to your door. No gas, no driving, and best of all, more time for you to spend with your pets.
When your place your order from MrChewy.com using the code TEMP2380, they'll get 10% off your first order! Plus, they will donate $10 to Best Friends Animal Society!

Rubbermaid Lunch Blox Review
I received a Rubbermaid Lunch Blox set the other day and I was so elated. When I agreed to test the product for Rubbermaid, I thought it was a lunch box. This is even better. This set has 5 pieces. A sandwich size container, a medium sized ( about half the size of the sandwich container, two small containers, and and ice pack. All of the pieces fit neatly together. They have a light snap in place feature that keeps them in a block shape that keeps them compact and more of a cube than individual containers. There is a teeny flaw with the containers, if you do not put the ice pack in the middle of the sandwich container and the three smaller containers, they do not snap together very securely.
I have been using these since I received them. I pack a lunch for my husband every day since he is on a restricted diet and drives a truck. The sandwich container is filled with homemade oatmeal, the two small containers usually have a hard boiled egg or trail mix, and the medium sized container has been everything from cottage cheese to fruit.
I was a little worried that when the containers were snapped together they would not fit in the insulated lunch box that we use. They fit perfectly! The ice kept the food cold witout getting the containers too cold. I have also noticed that the containers do not tip at all since they are locked together, which means no spills.
Overall, I am very happy with the lunchblox. I would love to purchase a few more sets of these so I do not have to wash them every day.

SodaStream Review
I recently received a Soadstream Fountain Jet from SodaStream USA and was like a kid in a candy store. I did not know where to start. Which flavor soda should I make first? Tough decision, but I figured that since I had a young child at my feet I would try one of their natural products.
Setting up the machine was very easy. I had to insert the CO2 canister and the actual unit was ready to use. I made sure that I washed the reusable bottle that came with the unit with soap and water to remove and unknown residues from packaging, and then I was ready to go.
Using the SodaSteam was super easy! Attaching the reusable bottle was a little awkward the first time just because I had never done it before, but it got much easier as I made more drinks.
When making your drinks, you need to realize that you are only adding carbonation to water. You do not add the flavoring until the water has carbonation. This will keep the unit from getting clogged and malfunctioning.
When adding the syrup to the water, there is a standard measurement, but you can adjust the level of flavor to your specific taste. Be very careful adding the flavor to the carbonated water. If you pour it in fast you will have a big mess to clean up (trust me, I tried).
I have tried several of the flavors so far, but I am on the hunt for new ones too. I really enjoyed the natural's flavors. There are unique flavors like black currant pear and apple mango. The naturals also contain real sugar. The standard flavors and diet varieties all contain some artificial sweetener in them. Since I could adjust the syrup to my taste, they were not too sweet and very refreshing.
I found that I did need to purchase a couple of spare carbonating bottles. One is just not enough. I purchased a twin pack at a local store and filled them with plain water. To make it easier, I stored them in the refrigerator until I was ready to make a drink. By doing this, the beverages were already cold when I made them and they did not require ice right away.
Overall the SodaStream is a great product. They are fun to have around and very easy to use.
This is a great gift idea for anyone that you know. Think about the possibilities.
