Recently I was approached by my 5 year old. He said "I want to be like the other kids and buy lunch at school. I don't like to be different." It made my heart drop. I happen to live in a community with a very low household income and most of the families with children qualify for a free lunch program through the state. I really just wanted to just squeeze him and tell him that I would buy him school lunches. Instead, I thought I would get creative with a review opportunity that was given to me.
I received a package of WEXY snack bags for a review and got to work. WEXY bags are eco-friendly, BPA free, and biodegradable! What more could
a parent ask for? Oh, by the way, the also have adorable characters on
them that my kids love.
Knowing that I am packing a lunch that is not only fun for my children,
but safer for my children is very appealing. I really do not like the
thought of buying chemical free foods, just to package them in a plastic
bag that is made with BPA or other carcinogens.
WEXY bags are not only cute and fun. They are durable. I managed to
stuff a sandwich (crust-less of course) the bag without any seams
bursting or the bag falling apart. That is not usually a challenge for
most, but I purchase the wide loaf breads that usually are too big to
stuff in a bag.
Sometimes I feel like plastic bags have a mind of their own and I have
arguments with the seals to get them to close. The seal on the WEXY bags
is easy to open and close. No need to yell at these bags to get them to
close.
After sending my 5 year old to school with WEXY bags for a few days, he has learned a very valuable lesson. He now knows that it is okay to be different. He also knows that just like him, other kids want to fit in too. Wexy bags are a product that will be stocked on my kitchen shelves. They are too fun not to have around for my kids lunches.
I received one or more of the products mentioned above for free using Tomoson.com. Regardless, I only recommend products or services I use personally and believe will be good for my readers.

Alphabet Flash Cards Review

As a parent of a child that has special needs, I am always looking for fun new ways to educate him. Not only do I struggle with his limited memory retention, but I also struggle with absence episodes, hyperactivity, and the inability for him to concentrate. The need for repetition in my household is high, but I really need help being creative and making learning fun too.
Using the Alphabet Flash Cards has been fun and easy to use. With a parent card and both capital and lowercase letters, I could teach in small segments to restrict the amount of new information. I know that sounds wrong, but it I provide too much information he get very frustrated and shuts down.
All of the flash cards have a nice big letter and a word starting with that letter on one side and a picture of the item on the other side. I started with the pictures since his level is around a 3 year old level. We have been practicing saying the words of the items in the pictures and then showing the letter on the other side. He is able to say most of the words correctly and we are working on recognising and saying the letters now.
Flash cards have always been a great learning tool and the Alphabet Flash Cards that I received are no different. I am very happy with the simplicity of the cards and the quality of the individual cards.

ABCMouse Review & Giveaway
ABC Mouse offers a full online curriculum for preschool, pre-kindergarten, and kindergarten in the subjects of reading, math, science, social studies, art, and music. Children can start anywhere and move through the curriculum at their own pace! ABC Mouse has won numerous awards, including the Parent's Choice, Teacher's Choice, and Mom's Choice GOLD awards!
There are six different levels for your child to work on. Each level contains items to engage your child in learning curriculum to prepare them for their first year of school.
Having a 5 year old in the house that has some mild developmental delays, ABCmouse is a creative way to create an easy and fun way to teach him some of the basics that he will need for starting kindergarten in the fall. He was thrilled with the puzzles and songs on the website. The best part for me, the parent, is that I can customize my child's learning experience based on their strengths and weaknesses.
By providing a learning experience and fun, ABCmouse actually allowed me to spend a little more time with my child.
