Ingenuity Washable Playard with Dream Centre Review

Disclaimer: I received the product described at no cost in exchange for my review. All opinions are my own and have not been influenced in any way.

As a mom, I am always looking for ways to simplify my life. I live in a small home with very limited storage and two small children. The new Ingenuity Washable Playard with Dream Centre has been a dream come true.

From: Ingenuity.com
As you can see from the photo above, it is pretty darn cute. It appears to have everything a mom or baby could need from a playard. Believe me, it does, and a little more too.

It was quick and easy to set up. I thought I would get a little frustrated with some of the accessories, but in just a few minutes time, I had the entire Ingenuity Washable Playard with Dream Centre set up. Even with the kids around. I am sure I would have remembered to add the bar with the animals for the photo above if I was not chasing or comforting someone in the middle of the set up.

The Ingenuity Washable Playard with Dream Centre has a snap on diaper changing station that is ideal for a small infant. Along with the diaper changing station for your infant, there is a raised bottom function to allow for less bending with a small infant. Dreamy for us older moms!! Don't worry though, the next time you blink and your child doubles in size, the playard quickly adapts to your needs.

The best part, the entire cover unzips for washing. No more worrying about the little messes that end up on the fabric. Just unzip, wash, and recover.  It is very clear that the Ingenuity Washable Playard with Dream Centre was designed with moms in mind.

As parents, we all love the small little things that our children do during their first few years of life. We want to cherish those memories forever. Every little thing that your child learns or does is a first and should be recognized by us as parents.

I will never forget when my children came home from the hospital in their teeny little outfits that they swam in. Then as they developed, small little things happened that made me grin from ear to ear. They were all simple things too. A small smile, a first tooth, first pair of shoes, the first haircut, the first step, and even the first fall.

Sometimes I wish I could relive the feelings of those events over and over. But there are ways to keep the memories a live a little longer, and keep your child comfortable too. With the launch of Pampers Swaddlers in sizes 4 and 5  Pampers Swaddlers are Pampers’ softest diaper ever, and while moms have always loved Swaddlers for their newborns, Swaddlers are now available through size 5! Dohmie by Marpac #serioussleep

Disclosure: I received the product described in this review in exchange for my honest review. All opinions are my own and may vary from your own.

As parents, we have all had those nights where our child just will not sleep. They fight going to sleep or they just keep waking up. If you have children, you know exactly what I am talking about. You also know the frustration that comes with these sleepless nights.

The Dohmie is a white noise machine that was created to help babies fall asleep and stay asleep.
When I received my Dohmie, it could not have come at a better time. My 6 month old daughter is teething and trying to adjust to the time change that just occurred. Her sleep patters are completely off and she has been fighting going to sleep at night.

Now instead of waiting to 11pm for her to fall asleep, I have been using the Dohmie. It is not perfect and does not "make" her fall asleep, but it definitely has cut the crying time down and keeps her asleep after she falls asleep.

The Dohmie itself is what I would consider a medium size unit and does not weigh a lot. The actual unit does not require batteries which is a plus in my home. That does mean that you will need an open electrical outlet inside your child's room that is far enough away from where they sleep, or reach, to avoid injuries.

The Dohmie is a white noise machine. That means that it makes a subtle noise to help eliminate silence in the room and provide comfort to your child. The actual noise that the Dohmie makes sounds a little like breathing. It is not loud, but it is noticeable from anywhere within the room that the unit is placed.

After using the unit for several nights, I did notice that my daughter is sleeping longer through the night. I did also notice that the nights that she is not fighting falling asleep as long. To explain, before using the Dohmie, she would go anywhere from an hour to 2 hours crying as she fought the bedtime routine. Now with the use of the Dohmie, she spends about 30 minutes crying before falling asleep.

The noise and volume of the machine is adjustable. With the turn of a button, you can control the level of noise. I am sure that adjusting the volume level to the perfect sound will vary from child to child. I live in a quiet town with very little outdoor noise, so I keep the volume fairly low. I can imagine that a family that lives in a large busy city or near a main street, may need to raise the volume a little more to drown out the exterior noises.

The Dohmie is designed to be portable, but I found that the size of the unit makes it a little inconvenient to take with me. The actual size of the unit is 2.4 pounds, 7.4 inches around, and about 4 inches tall. The size of the unit makes it difficult to toss in a diaper bag or just take with you on a trip.

Infant/Toddler costume Review

Disclaimer: I received the product described below free of charge to facilitate this review. All opinions are by own.

With Halloween right around the corner, there could not be a better time to test out costumes, so when I was given an opportunity to review an infant/ toddler costume, I jumped at the chance.

Costume Discounters has an extensive choice of infant and toddler costumes.
I chose to review the Pinky Winky Infant Costume since I have a couple of little monsters running around my home.Once the costume arrived, I immediately opened it and started to play dress up with my 5 month old. That is what everyone does right?

Once I pulled the costume out of the package, I was immediately impressed with the quality. Some of the costumes that I have seen lately in retail stores have been just simple T-shirts and thin pants or tights. The Pinky Winky Infant costume is not either of those. It is made of a nice fluffy material and was decorated as I expected. The only thing I noticed, is that the costume needed a good shaking before actually putting it on my child to get off the loose fuzz, but that was quick and easy to resolve.

The feet of the costume are designed to look like little monster feet but the actual pads on the bottom are made with gripping material to keep your young child from slipping.  I think my favorite feature of this costume is the velcro openings. The back has a smaller velcro piece that opens up to allow for easy application over a child's head. There is also velco pieces along both legs to allow you to easily put the costume on a child or quickly change a diaper without removing the entire costume.

Did you know monsters had dimples?
The Pinky Winky infants costume is just as cute on my child as it is shown on the website directly. I could not have asked for or picked a better costume to fit my little girl's personality.

Comfort and Harmony Mombo Nursing Pillow Review & Giveaway

This review was made possible by Double Duty Divas and Kids II. I was provided the featured product free of charge to facilitate my review, but all opinions are 100% mine.

With a three month old in my house there is always a need for a few extra hands, especially when nursing. When I was given the opportunity to review and giveaway a Mombo Nursing Pillow, I jumped at the chance.

I received the Blush N Bloom design on my pillow. It is solid pink on one side and is white with large flowers on the other side. When the Comfort and Harmony Mombo Nursing Pillow arrived, I was very surprised at some of the features.

First,  the pillow is double sided. There is a firm side and a soft side. The firm side is designed for using when nursing your baby and the soft side is designed for lounging. After several uses, I found that both sides worked for either purpose, but the soft side was clearly easier on the baby for sitting up.

The next feature that I liked was the vibration unit. There is a small vibration unit that takes one size C battery that tucks in a small pocket in between the two layers of material. At first, I thought this was an unusual feature. After putting in a battery and tucking it inside the pillow, I tested it out. It is very easy to turn on and off by pressing in the center of the pillow. Until I put Jaz on the pillow with the vibration on, it was just a feature I figured I would not really use. But when I did turn it on, the laughter started. Jaz started to giggle away. If I shout of the vibration she would stop. This was a big hit with Jaz..... an me. I don' think I have laughed that hard in a long time.

The last feature, the washable slipcover,  I think will be every mothers favorite. I am not aware of many people that did not have a small child that did not spit up or have a diaper accident at all during infancy. Knowing that the slipcover is easily removable and washable is a big plus in any products designed for a baby. There were 2 issues I had with the slipcover. First, there are large tags that are sewn in on the outside of the cover. They are made of a material that if cut off, I know would be itchy and scratchy. This was not a deal breaker, but I would like to see the tags inside the cover so I don't have to see them. The other issue I had was determining which way to put the slipcover on. Again, not a big deal but still a dilemma in my mind. Do I want the solid pink up when Jaz is feeding or sitting down? I know this is a silly issue bI still needed to provide my thoughts.

Over all, I have been very happy with my Comfort and Harmony Mombo Nursing Pillow. It has made breastfeeding easier, is helping Jaz learn to sit, and has definitely created laughter in our home.

One lucky winner will get their choice of Mombo Nursing pillow from this page. a Rafflecopter giveaway
